May is the "Mother Lode" for bird migration in New Mexico. This is the time when most birds are on the move, therefore, the best time to see the widest variety in our local parks and your backyard. Come to Ridgecrest Park, along with your binoculars, to enjoy this bounty with Mary Schmauss, our local bird expert. You might remember Mary's regular bird columns in the Albuquerque Journal. Until her retirement, Mary owned Wild Birds Unlimited on Montgomery (now Menaul) and has been bird watching for most of her life. She is also a co-author (with her sisters) of the book, For the Birds-A Month by Month Guide to Attracting Birds to your Backyard. We will have a couple of extra binoculars, if you don't have any. You can stroll around the park with Mary, or if you prefer, position yourself on one of the park benches. There will be plenty of time for questions.
